Job summary
Wehave state of the art hospitals at Pontefract and Wakefield and are upgradingthe existing Dewsbury Hospital to the same standard. Maternity services aredelivered at all three Trust sites. We have antenatal clinics at all threesites and Midwifery Led Birth centres at Pinderfields and Dewsbury as well as adedicated Consultant led labour ward at Pinderfields providing 98 hour residentcover per week. Our labour ward is directly linked to our neonatal unit wherewe have an excellent working relationship with our neonatal team. A separateteam is responsible for Elective Caesarean sections and also provide back up tothe Labour ward teams if required. We also offer a excellent bereavement service formothers who have suffered a still birth or late miscarriage.
There are 3 antenatal dayunits, one at each hospital site providing daily assessments and reviews. Ourpresent team offer expertise in Maternal Medicine, Multiple pregnancy, PretermClinics with cervical length scanning, Fetal Assessment and SGA Scans and highrisk Obstetrics. The department is fully supported by Obstetric Anaesthetists,Radiology and the on call team is provided back up by the Gynaecology on callteam.

Weekend On-call duties for Obstetrics is shared with 16 colleagues on anapproximately 1:8 basis paid at Band A
o Friday/Sunday on-call weekend - resident 08:00to hours during weekends Saturday and Sunday and then non resident until08:00
o Saturday on-call weekend as above
o Short working weekend 08:00 to 16:00Saturday and Sunday (no overnight on-call)
o non-patient-facing duties on a post-on callday
Hot Week (AlternateAntenatal/Labour Ward) 1 week in 8: Monday to Friday 08:00 18:00 hrs (relievedof other activities during this period)This will include ward rounds.
Weekday On-call duties for Obstetrics is shared with 16 colleagueson an approximately 1:16 basis (resident from 17:30 hours until 23:00 hoursduring weekdays Monday to Friday and then non resident until 08:00)

This post isoffered on a full time (10 PA) basis although less than full time applicationswill be considered.
