An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Bid Support Coordinator. \n\nReporting to the Head of Bid Management, the primary role is to act within the Bid Management team in the development, co-ordination and issuing of compelling and winning proposals that are executable by the business. \nThe role is to support Business Development (BD), and all other functions, across all aspects of business winning and opportunities. It will involve working closely with the BD Director and team to manage, supervise and deliver opportunity management, order intake tracking and reporting, bid & tender management, proposal preparation and customer relationship management.\nThere will be a requirement to work across all business functions to ensure that once an opportunity has been qualified and a decision made to bid, that appropriate resources, actions, and reviews take place prior to any submission.\n\nThe appointee and the Bid Management team will play a vital role in representing the BD team on a day-to-day basis and when needed attending any internal business meetings in their absence on business.\n\nAbout the role\nReporting to the Head of Bid Management, the primary role is to act within the Bid Management team in the development, co-ordination and issuing of compelling and winning proposals that are executable by the business. It will involve working closely with the BD Director and team to manage, supervise and deliver opportunity management, order intake tracking and reporting, bid & tender management, proposal preparation and customer relationship management.\nThe appointee and the Bid Management team will play a vital role in representing the BD team on a day-to-day basis and when needed attending any internal business meetings in their absence on business.\n\nKey Responsibilities.\n\nReports to the Head of Bid Management and will be involved in both management and completion of:\nOpportunity & order intake pipeline databases\nOrder intake tracking and reporting.\nBid co-ordination and support.\nProposal preparation (including liaison with Commercial Function around costing models)\n Customer relationship management (CRM) tool inputting\n Market & Competitor Analysis – in conjunction with Marketing & Communications function\nCross functional (Finance, Commercial, Engineering & Projects) liaison to prepare and deliver reports and inputs for standard business winning proposals.\n Support to the maintenance of performance indicators, metrics, and tracks as required.\nWhere required support to and coordination of major business Campaign Plans\nPotentially attending major defence and security conferences and exhibitions (globally) in support of the BD team.Skills/Experience,\n\nThis should be considered as a “next step” position for a career in bid management of a wide variety of bids in terms of complexity and value. The Bid Support Coordinator may have experience in business winning, bid management, estimating, or sales activity, preferably within an Engineering/Manufacturing business. Where required, training will be provided for the right candidate.\nSome experience in the defence sector is desirable.\nDegree level qualification is desirable.\nThe ability to work with and understand technical specifications and to speak confidently to customers (internal and external) is essential.\nOur ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience and have a knowledge of sales/business development and related best practices.\nWe expect you to perform strongly in a team environment and demonstrate strong people skills.\nMust also be able to operate as an individual and make timely, rational decisions when necessary.\nExperience working with CRM systems and a proficiency in working with Excel spreadsheets and databases would be desirable.\nAn ability to communicate both verbally and written is essential.Typically, office based though trips to events, conferences and exhibitions (sometimes overseas) will be required from time-to-time.
