Swimming Teacher - Multiple Sites Across Manchester Reporting to: Pool Coordinator, Mentor Teacher Key Stakeholders: Aquatics Lead, Aquatics Managers, Swimming Master Trainer, Pool Coordinators, Mentor Teachers Organisation’s Purpose: We exist to improve the lives of others Responsible for: The role of Swimming Teacher is to deliver swimming lessons at Life Leisure pools. You will inspire and motivate your swimmers and deliver exceptional swimming lessons, introducing new ideas and demonstrating good practice whilst role modelling our WATCH principles. The swimming lessons are aligned with Life Leisure’s Purpose and Mission. You will effectively promote and connect with the swimming lesson customers and consistently deliver the services we provide to the community. Hours: Swimming teaching hours to suit, 20-30 hours per week 52 weeks Location: Life Leisure Salary: £13.30 per hour 52 weeks Option to teach holiday courses and/or school swimming lessons About You: You are an experience swimming teacher who strives to deliver the most effective, fun and progressive lessons. You have the ability to assess and appraise other assistants and teachers and are happy to take the lead, be well organised and work on your own initiative, whilst also being a team player. You always present your authentic self, to everybody you meet. Experience relevant to the role Essential Level 2 swimming teacher qualification Knowledge of teaching all ages and abilities A genuine passion for swimming ad water based activities A desire to encourage lifelong participation The ability to be well planned and work to deadlines and targets Desirable Knowledge of the Life Leisure swimming lessons scheme Education and qualifications Essential Level 2 swimming teacher qualification Job Duties: Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons for different age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers. Create lesson plans tailored to the needs and abilities of individual students or groups. In water demonstrations of proper swimming techniques, including different strokes and essential water safety skills. Modify lessons for students with physical or cognitive disabilities, ensuring inclusivity and safe participation. Ensure the safety of all students during lessons, including enforcing water safety protocols. Keep lessons engaging, fun, and safe for everyone, catering to different personalities and learning styles. Track and evaluate the progress of each student, offering feedback and guidance for improvement. Maintain accurate attendance records and progress reports using CoursePro.
