A client within the Public Sector based in East Midlands currently recruiting for a Planning Officer to join their Planning Policy team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a planning environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role to support the development and implementation of planning policy, contribute to place-shaping projects, and assist in maintaining a sound evidence base for policy and guidance, with responsibilities across the Planning Policy function.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Assisting in the development of planning policy and guidance through research, consultation, and formal adoption processes.
* Undertaking data analysis and research to inform policy decisions and support Local Plan objectives.
* Preparing statements and representing the Council at hearings, inquiries and consultations.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
1. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification that enables future access to Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
