Job Description Position: Senior Civil Engineer Location: Lisburn and sites throughout NI Responsible to: Senior Management Contract type: Full-time, permanent About the Opportunity: A well-established civil engineering contractor based in Northern Ireland is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team. This family-owned business, renowned for its quality, reliability, and exceptional service, operates across various sectors including civil engineering, demolition, quarrying, waste management, outdoor cleaning services, and analytical chemistry. Key Responsibilities: Oversee engineering management and supervision on diverse projects. Manage site-based staff including Engineers, Apprentices, and Students. Supervise subcontractors and provide necessary instructions and support. Ensure project contract documentation is up-to-date. Maintain high compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality standards. Manage and update construction programs and resource allocation. Ensure project completion meets specifications. Conduct weekly site meetings as per company procedures. Optimize resource utilization. Handle contractual correspondence. Assist the QS team with project commercial aspects. Maintain detailed site diaries and records. Represent the business to clients and stakeholders, building and maintaining effective relationships. Ensure projects meet high standards and client requirements. Essential Criteria: Extensive experience in Civil Engineering. Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional knowledge of industry specifications and requirements. Familiarity with standard construction contracts (NEC, JCT, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Project. Experience with AutoCAD or similar software. Knowledge of setting out equipment including GPS, Robotic TS, and various laser levelling equipment. Excellent communication, people, and team management skills. Positive attitude, cooperative, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Problem-solving skills. Valid driving license.
