Cost Accountant/Assistant Accountant, £27,000-£37,000, Oakenshaw, Bradford An established business located south of Bradford close to the M606 junction, is looking to appoint an experienced Cost Accountant/Assistant Accountant. This is an exciting time to join the business as they are currently going through growth into new sectors and you will have the opportunity to implement systems and procedures to improve on their current processes. You will report to their Financial Controller and General Manager. You will be expected to travel to their Harrogate office where the FD is based a few times per month. To be considered you should have worked in an engineering, electronics or manufacturing environment and have a good knowledge of Sage 50 and Excel skills, Key Responsibilities: Manage all accounting transactions Control of inventory in terms of valuations and set up new bills of material and stock codes Prepare and assist in budgets and forecasts Publish management accounts on time Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closing Interaction with external auditors Reconcile accounts payable and receivable as well as capture transactions as and when necessary Ensure timely payments to suppliers Assist with VAT returns on a quarterly basis and supply information on any tax queries Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements Report to the company’s financial health and liquidity Internal audit of financial transactions and documents Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary Comply with financial policies and regulations and assist in setting up policies Skills Required: Experience of working as a cost accountant and Billing of Materials Stock control accounting experience Sage 50 experience Able to work independently Able to process and capture information Proficient in Excel and Word Well organised with a keen attention to detail Benefits: The role is office based working 35 hours/week: 9-5pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch Free onsite parking 26 days holiday plus bank holidays
