AQUAtechniques is a well-established and forward-thinking local business, dealing with domestic and commercial aquariums. We provide construction, refurbishment and maintenance services to a very high standard.
To satisfy the needs of our ever-increasing client base, we are currently looking to increase our team, seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual for the following position:
Aquarium Maintenance Engineer
What you need:
* A good working knowledge of aquariums and fish coupled to an understanding of associated filtration and aquarium systems.
* A full UK driving license. (This is non-negotiable). Our service area regularly covers Surrey, Sussex, Kent and London, with occasional work further afield, therefore the role will include a good amount of travel in a company van provided. We also use public transport in London.
* Fishkeeping experience is an absolute necessity, either as a passionate hobbyist or previous working in the trade. The right attitude and ability to perform well practically will also be paramount, as well as an active passion and interest for tropical freshwater fish keeping. Necessary training will be given to the right candidate. We strive to offer a friendly, professional service and therefore an outgoing, happy personality is ideal for this role.
* Must be reliable and able to self-motivate as this is mainly a lone working role.
* To work efficiently in an organised manner to complete tasks on time and to the highest standards.
* To be reactive to challenges with a good problem-solving mindset.
* A flexible approach to work, there will be the necessity that occasionally requires you to assist other parts of the business - we deal with anything that has an ornamental fish in it!
* You must be customer focused and courteous, communicate clearly and always look to exceed the client's expectations.
* Undertake necessary paperwork fully, efficiently and to time.
What would be beneficial:
* Knowledge of fish behaviour and health.
* Experience of aquarium filtration and systems.
* Knowledge of aquarium system construction, to help with solving problems.
* Knowledge of aquarium plants.
* Prior trade experience in an aquatic retail environment or aquarium servicing.
What you do:
* Provide solutions to aquarium and fish problems.
* Liaise with clients confidently and clearly.
* Service aquariums, pumping and filtration equipment.
* Carry out monthly/regular maintenance programmes.
* Undertake regular maintenance procedures.
