We are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Property Services to lead our property team and manage our diverse portfolio of council-owned properties. What You’ll Do… … Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement forward-thinking property strategies that align with our council’s goals and community needs. Property Management: Oversee the maintenance and efficient use of all council-owned properties, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Asset Optimisation: Manage acquisitions, disposals, leases, and valuations to maximize the value and utility of our property assets. Financial Stewardship: Prepare and manage the property department’s budget, ensuring financial efficiency and accountability. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all properties comply with relevant legislation, health and safety standards, and council policies. Team Development: Lead and inspire a dedicated team of property professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including council members, community groups, and contractors. Reporting: Provide insightful reports to senior management and the council on property-related matters. What you need………. Professional qualification in property management (e.g., RICS). Extensive experience in property management, preferably within a local government or public sector environment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Knowledge of property law, health and safety regulations, and financial management. Why Rutland?
