Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Trainee Traffic Planner / Transport Admin to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some experience in container transport or logistics who is eager to develop their skills in traffic planning and transport administration. The ideal candidate will be IT literate, highly organised, and possess good communication skills to interact with customers, drivers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the planning and coordination of container transport, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulations.
2. Input and update booking information into the system, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
3. Monitor and report any delays or issues with transportation to ensure a smooth operation.
4. Communicate with customers to update them on the status of their deliveries and resolve any queries.
5. Interact with drivers to provide relevant information and instructions regarding their routes and deliveries.
6. Produce and maintain regular reports on transport performance, delays, and any operational issues.
7. Assist with general administrative tasks related to transport planning.
8. Ensure all transport operations comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
9. Work closely with the traffic planning team to ensure efficient route planning and fleet utilisation.
10. Provide support to senior planners and administrators where needed.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
1. Some experience in container transport or logistics is preferred.
2. IT literate and competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and managing issues as they arise.
8. A willingness to learn and develop in the field of traffic planning and transport administration.
