An exciting opportunity has arisen at Oaklands for a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to provide high-quality teaching and training to students across a variety of engineering qualifications.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering engaging and industry-relevant teaching across a range of qualifications. In this position, you will:
1. Deliver high-quality lessons across Level 2, Level 3 BTEC, T Levels, Apprenticeships, and HNC/D in subjects like CAD, Engineering Design, Engineering Projects, and Mechanical Principles.
2. Support students' learning and progression through innovative and effective teaching methods and assessments.
3. Work closely with colleagues and industry partners to ensure curriculum relevance and employability for students.
You will also be responsible for:
* Planning and developing schemes of work in line with curriculum requirements and student needs.
* Maintaining and updating student records and ensuring their academic progress and success.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a proactive and student-centred approach, and experience in delivering engineering qualifications at various levels. You should also have:
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple teaching responsibilities.
* Proficiency in engineering software (such as CAD) and a commitment to staying updated with industry standards.
* A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one, along with recent experience in the mechanical engineering industry or a related sector.
Previous experience in delivering BTEC, T Levels, HNC/D, or apprenticeships is desirable, along with a commitment to providing a high-quality student experience.

This position qualifies for Department for Education (DfE) targeted retention incentive payments for FE teachers, which is an additional £6000 tax-free lump sum annual payment from government for new FE teachers who are within their first 5 years of teaching in Engineering.
