About This Role
Are you looking for flexible, adhoc work to fit around other commitments? Do you have a passion for education and an eye for detail? If the answer is YES then a role as Secondary School Exam Invigilator might be worth considering!
We are looking for reliable, flexible and trustworthy Exam Invigilators to support our Exams Team during the busy exam periods. The post would suit someone local who is looking for casual hours during the exam periods throughout the academic year. You should be reliable, punctual and able to work flexibly. No experience is needed as training will be given, but a willingness to support our young people during times of exam stress by being a confident and reassuring presence is a must.
Working days and hours will vary according to your availability, examination dates and number of invigilators needed for each exam.
About Us
At Ormiston Denes Academy, we believe education extends beyond the confines of classrooms and textbooks. Our academy is a vibrant, dedicated community where every day is an opportunity for growth, and every individual is encouraged to become the best version of themselves. We understand that potential is limitless, and with the right support and guidance, challenges can be transformed into achievements.
Why work for Ormiston Academies Trust? Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more
Our vision is to create a school system where every child thrives, regardless of background. Our people are at the heart of our approach – they are our greatest asset.
We exist to provide the best learning opportunities every day, in every school for every child. It is the people and teams in our Trust who make this a reality and ensure we have the greatest impact. If you join us at Ormiston, whatever your role, you can be sure of a role with purpose and meaning.
Ormiston, where every member of staff enjoys:
1. The opportunity to build on the legacy of those who came before – being part of one of the longest standing Trusts, created with the sole purpose of enabling children and young people to thrive.
2. Working for a Trust nationally recognised for its impact on disadvantaged children – a rewarding, stimulating career where staff are challenged to be the best they can be, for the pupils we are proud to serve.
About You
As an Exam Invigilator, your presence will maintain the integrity of examinations in an environment that enables a student to perform at their best. You will assist with setting up of exam venues, checking examination packs, assisting candidates and actively invigilating during examinations.
You will be required to check attendance and record relevant details, so good written and verbal communication is essential. It is essential that you possess good interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with matters calmly, swiftly and firmly, without being confrontational.
Previous experience working with secondary school children would be a distinct advantage as any previous supervision experience, although this is not essential.
If you would relish the opportunity of working with us and have the skills and experience we are looking for, then we would welcome your application.
