Do you have an interest in influencing the places where we live and work?
Have you ever thought of a career in property?
Fisher German is a fast-growing, leading national firm of UK Property Consultants and Chartered Surveyors, with over 800 people across 26 offices, offering a wide range of over 20 property services lines.
We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our national Valuations team in our Liverpool City Centre office. Our national valuation service is delivered by a team of over 50 RICS registered valuers and undertakes valuations of a wider variety of commercial, residential, agricultural, leisure and development property. We advise financial institutions, investors, lenders, property companies, property-owning corporations and private individuals. We also advise Third and Public sector organisations and help them make informed decisions about the value of their property assets.
What would I be doing?
Our Apprentice Surveyor will be based out of our Liverpool office. You will complete your apprenticeship studies at the University College of Estate Management (UCEM) and will enrol onto the Chartered Surveyor Degree Apprenticeship (level 6) in September 2025. Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you can expect to achieve a BSc (Hons) Degree and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). Alongside the experience you gain in your work, this will help you achieve Chartered membership of the RICS (MRICS) as the final apprenticeship (end point assessment) outcome. The apprenticeship will help you to develop the knowledge, skills, and all the behaviours required for a career to become a chartered surveyor.
The apprenticeship route will last 5 years and will run alongside a permanent contract. You will work four full days in the office and a day dedicated for your study (which will be advised by the university). The degree is taught via online study with occasional one-day classroom-based workshops, so you will need to be self-motivated to complete independent study. Your work will be assessed via a variety of methods from essays, reports, tests, exams, and work-based assessments.
What are the requirements?
You will be working from our Liverpool City Centre office within an ambitious team. We are more than happy to teach you all the technical skills you need; it is your personal attributes and commitment to the role that is key. We are seeking a person who can demonstrate the following:
* Entry requirement for the Level 6 Apprenticeship will typically be A Levels (96 UCAS tariff points).
* At least Grade A*- C (or grades 9-4) in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
* Have an interest in property valuation.
* Have excellent people and communication skills - both verbal and written.
* Have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to identify and solve problems.
* Adopt a consultative approach, able to identify and solve problems.
* Have the ability to undertake research, consider information, and present findings to your colleagues and clients.
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office (namely Word and Excel).
* Have the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at any one time, working in a way that is highly agile and responsive to rapidly changing client and site requirements alongside your studies.
* Be committed to continuing your studies in order to become chartered with the RICS.
* Have access to transport or be willing to do so by the time you start work, as you will often be required to travel to out-of-town client sites.
