Role: Adult Learning Support Assistant (Cognassist Facilitator)
Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary from £22,734 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking an Adult Learning Support Assistant (Cognassist Facilitator) to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College group.
As an Adult Learning Support Assistant (Cognassist Facilitator), you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Facilitating and managing adult student cohorts to complete the Cognassist assessment at the start of the learner journey.
* Providing monthly support meetings to learners who have matched on the Cognassist assessment recording in the Cognassist platform.
* Being an active member of the ALS Team and assisting in the development of adult students’ skills and strategies to support their progress and achievement.
* Managing a case load of learners.
* Delivering presentations on how Cognassist works to adult students and facilitating student cohorts to complete the Cognassist assessment.
* Scheduling monthly meetings for “matched” Cognassist students on a one-to-one basis to complete a reflection note of student engagement and impact of Cognassist strategies.
* Attending regular meetings to provide information for review and evaluation purposes.
* Maintaining appropriate records as required by the college e.g., Cognassist system notes and record, progress reports etc.
* Working collaboratively with Curriculum delivery teams to encourage student engagement in Cognassist to support students’ attainment and progression.
* Providing assistance at college functions e.g. open days and inductions.
* Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable adults in line with the area and college policies and procedures.
* Undertaking any other duties of a similar nature and responsibility assigned by the line manager.
* Promoting equality and diversity in line with college procedures.
* Following health and safety requirements in line with college policy and procedures.
* Participating proactively in training and development including qualification development required in the job role.
About you:
* Hold a Level 2 Learner Support Certificate or equivalent or be willing to work towards.
* Be educated to Level 2 in Maths and English.
* Have experience of providing support to individuals in an educational setting.
* Have experience of using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
* Possess the ability to consistently contribute to a high-quality learning experience for all students.
* Possess the ability to consistently demonstrate high levels of performance in the job role.
* Have a willingness to work at all Bedford sites.
* Have a flexible approach to work patterns.
