Role Overview
The Primary Care and Pediatric Flow staffs utilize the nursing process to provide for the patient’s physical and psychosocial needs and to assist in the planning and evaluation of care provided.
Key Responsibilities
1. Educational Needs: Provide for the educational needs of patients and families.
2. Skilled Nursing Care: Provide skilled nursing care to patients with multiple nursing needs in accordance with established policy and protocol.
3. Communication: Demonstrate skill in written and verbal communication.
4. Professional Development: Maintain and update skills and knowledge base in keeping with expected performance level.
5. Positive Attitude: Project a professional and positive attitude toward patients, staff, and visitors in the Clinic and throughout the Organization.
6. Clinic Function: Participate in the function of the Clinic in order to meet patient care needs, Clinic and Organizational goals.
7. Competence with Patient Population: Demonstrate competence to work with all age groups, types of patients in the patient population served, recognizing both the needs specific to age/type and techniques or modifications required for care.
8. Timely Assignments: Complete assignments in an accurate and timely fashion.
9. Emergency Protocols: Perform to established protocol in Code Blue, biohazards, fire disaster, and bomb threat.
10. Patient Equipment Care: Demonstrate appropriate use and care of patient equipment.
11. Seeking Guidance: Seek assistance or guidance in areas of uncertainty.
12. Safety Policies: Provide for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff through advanced safety and infection control policy and procedure.
