Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer
Pay: £50,000 per annum
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00
Location: Stevenage
To manage and assist the controls team with day-to-day activities as well as leading the sitewide focus on critical and general alarms. The department will be a primary go-to for controlling plant and general BMS related issues by the other operational teams at Stevenage. This role will be heavily based around our BMS system which is Johnson Controls – Metasys and will require a strong understanding of either Metasys or similar.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the workload of the team including assigning and scheduling tasks/checking on quality and quantity of work carried out.
2. Raise work orders for the team when required.
3. Assist with business impact assessments (for plant shutdowns or equipment downtime).
4. Coordinate any technical queries from the relevant site teams.
5. Carry out reactive work and maintenance PPMs to the EMCOR BMS system.
6. Provide technical service and support on the BMS system for the maintenance team across the operation.
7. A key focus will be providing the team with metric data and assisting them to achieve the numerous KPI’s and SLAs on the account.
8. Support all site teams with technical and operational issues.
9. Assist with the development of the BMS strategy as and when required.
10. Manage the critical and general alarms on site.
11. Generate alarm data twice a week and prepare information for a weekly update with the client.
12. Control access to the EMCOR BMS System alongside the BMS team.
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. City & Guilds 18th Edition 236 Part 1 & 2 or Mechanical equivalent where applicable.
2. BMS system qualifications (Honeywell, Trend, Metasys, etc.).
3. BCIA qualifications also preferable but not essential.
4. Proven experience in a technical role is required.
5. Previous experience managing a team of engineers.
6. Knowledge of the BMS system is essential, preferably Metasys.
7. Good IT skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
8. Previous experience in an FM environment is essential, pharmaceutical is desirable.
9. An understanding of current health and safety regulations and the ability to work unsupervised.
10. The ability to work to prescribed service level agreements.
