* Analysisand Design of complex steel structures utilising Eurocodes, BritishStandards and BAE standards, to support submarinebuild
You will utilise yourknowledge of specific regulations & requirements beyond thatused within BAE Systems i.e., LOLER, codes of compliance, weldspecifications, geometrictolerance Competent in computer basedanalytical techniques including finite element analysis, CADmodelling and engineering schematics (Abaqus,S-Frame) Supporting themanufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installationprocesses of Submarine Structures, Modules andComponents Supporting a busyenvironment in utilising your knowledge of the facility and siterestrictions applicable to the shipping, handling, alignment andinstallation of hull units, large equipment, andstructures Supporting towardsproduction of concept drawings, layouts, and other technicaloutputs consistent with contractual requirements to meet targetdates and budgetdemands
Your skills andexperiences:
Essential
* Engineering Degree BEng/MEng orequivalent / OR HND with extensive years’ experienceCivil/Mechanical/Structural Based
Experience in undertaking Hand Analysis and DesignTechniques including ReportWriting Understanding of the use of Eurocodes and BritishStandards Good understanding of mechanical engineering, structuralsteelwork, knowledge of lifting handling andLOLER Working knowledge of ABAQUS (Software), S-Frame, Foran, MathCAD andexcel Member of Professional Institution – IMechE, ICE,IStructE. Incorporated Engineer IEng Status or Working towardsIncorporated Status with the aim of progressing to CharteredEngineer CEng Status

* Previous knowledge in a productionenvironment – experience in a marine production environmentadvantageous

The Specialist StructuresDepartment team: As aSenior Engineer, you will be working with a dual function team(design and engineers) consisting of 14 people at various senioritylevels (S3, S4, S5). The team is responsible for engineeringassessments of the designs in support ofbuild. You willbe working in conjunction with design to produce equipment and/orsupport operation in production to produce safety-criticalequipment.
