The Pharmacy team is looking for a registered or soon-to-be registered Pharmacy Technician to join the department on a full-time, permanent basis.
This developmental role starting as a band 4 Technician will support you through a guided programme to complete competencies over a 6-12 month period in order to move to a band 5 position. This will include Final Accuracy checking, Medicines Management skills as well as other leadership and development competencies.
This is an ideal opportunity for those new to or returning to the profession.
You'll be joining a friendly, patient-centred department and will assist in the provision of Pharmacy services to the Trust's hospitals, community clinics and external providers. In doing so, you will also be supporting a number of teams within Pharmacy, including the dispensary and medicines management ward based teams.
Full support and training will be given to allow you to progress within the desired time frame. We are an experienced team that are here for you and we want you to develop to your full potential.
You will be responsible for identifying, selecting, dispensing and distributing medicines for inpatient, discharge and outpatient prescriptions, as well as pharmaceutical items including Controlled Drugs to wards and departments throughout the Trust. You will also act as a point of contact for patients, their families, doctors and other healthcare staff seeking information on medicines. As a part of a ward based team, you will carry out medicines reconciliation and help prepare medicines for discharge.
This role is based at the PAH main site.
The general working pattern is 37.5 hours per week over a 7 day period, with usual working hours 9-5 Monday to Friday. This will include some late standby shifts, weekend and bank holiday working. Flexible working applications would be considered.
