Job Title: Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Across 7 days a week (9:00 AM – 10:00 PM operating times), transitioning to 24/7 coverage starting April 1st.
Rate of Pay:
Day Rate: £29.00 per hour
Night/Saturday Rate: £33.00 per hour
Sunday/Bank Holiday Rate: £37.00 per hourAccommodation: Not provided
Role Overview:
The Crisis & Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) is seeking an experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join their dynamic team. This role is key to providing an alternative to inpatient admission by delivering intensive community-based mental health care. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in supporting individuals in crisis and ensuring timely, effective interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
Crisis Support: Provide intensive support and treatment to service users in crisis as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working to prevent hospital admissions and maintain individuals in the community.
Clinical Decision-Making: Conduct thorough assessments and make autonomous clinical decisions for a high-risk user population.
Care Planning: Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of care, ensuring a high standard of service that meets the needs of people requiring acute intervention.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, family members, and external agencies (such as local authorities and housing providers) to manage risks and provide integrated care.
Mental Health Act Assessments: Participate in Mental Health Act assessments and contribute to decision-making around hospital admissions.
24/7 Rotational Coverage: Work a shift pattern that includes evenings, weekends, and night shifts as part of a 24/7 service, including Bank Holidays.Key Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, ideally in a Crisis Resolution or Home Treatment setting.
Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
Ability to work independently, making clinical decisions in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working with high-risk service users, demonstrating excellent risk assessment and management skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with a wide range of professionals and family members.
Ability to work flexibly across a 24/7 rota, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.Qualifications:
Professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing (RMN), Social Work (SW), or Occupational Therapy (OT).
Active registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC).Additional Information:
