We are currently seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will lead the development and optimization of electronic systems for our cutting-edge robotic products.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the development and optimization of electronic systems for medical robotics, including circuit design, power management, and embedded systems.
* Design schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools like Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
* Select and integrate electrical/electronic components (e.g., sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and power supplies) that align with performance and safety standards.
* Design fail-safe mechanisms and redundancy systems to ensure reliability in critical medical applications.
* Implement and document safety measures, including grounding, isolation, and protection mechanisms.
* Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
* Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses, identifying and mitigating risks associated with electrical/electronic systems.
* Ensure design processes align with ISO 14971 for risk management in medical devices.
* Ensure designs meet regulatory standards, including IEC 60601, FDA, and ISO 13485 requirements for safety, EMC, and risk management.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to power distribution, signal integrity, and control system performance.
* Maintain detailed records of design changes, test results, and compliance certifications for audit readiness.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
* Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and methods relevant to medical device design.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Who are we looking for:
* You have a Bachelor’s or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a similar field.
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical/electronics design, with a focus on medical devices or similar regulated industries.
* Proven track record of working with IEC 60601 standards and other medical device regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
* Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, AutoCAD Electrical) for schematic capture and PCB layout.
* Knowledge of I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, Ethernet or EtherCAT for system integration.
* Familiarity with power electronics, motor control, and signal conditioning circuits.
* Experience in designing and developing electrical/electronic systems for medical devices, particularly those classified as Class II or Class III.
* Experience preparing technical documentation for regulatory submissions, including FDA, EU MDR or similar.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, from concept to production, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* You are focused, organised and have a drive to develop high-quality products.
