Let us introduce the role AWE is currently recruiting for Manufacturing Engineers to help design and shape the UK's future nuclear deterrent using innovation and the latest technologies, processes and capabilities. These roles are ideally suited to candidates with demonstrable experience in working within a manufacturing environment, with engineering design and supply chain knowledge. Working in a highly regulated environment and working alongside our design teams, technical experts and research centres, the role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to Identify, develop and implement innovative ways of working, appropriate with a new product introduction, support our production operations, delivering continuous improvement activities; optimise productivity, safety and reduce cost. Who are we looking for? Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following: Configuration management MRP / ERP experience Process and Documentation generation Experience of creating and managing Route Cards (RC) and Technical Instructions (TI) Experience of driving and managing Engineering Change Requests (ECR) Project management Supporting prototype build activities with new processes and support resulting evaluative and non-analytical verification Knowledge and understanding of process control and problem investigation tools (PFMEAs, control plans, RCA, A3, 5 whys) Identifying, developing and implementing innovative ways of working, commensurate with a new product introduction (NPI) Demonstrable experience in product development and developing manufacturing capability and processes Experience of applying Lean Manufacturing Techniques, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Continuous Improvement, Quality Tools, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Obsolescence Management and Model Based Realisation Experience in defining or updating assembly or inspection processes Experience in CNC machining and casting Design to Manufacture (D2M) experience of process, tooling or equipment including requirements capture and presenting at design reviews Delivering results and driving innovative change We would love you to have the following Soft skills: Excellent interpersonal and team building skills capable of building good working relationships within the organisation Leadership skills Stakeholder influence and management Good communication skills Adaptability Some reasons we think you'll love it here: AWE has wide range of benefits to suit you.
