The School of Mathematical Sciences at University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) seeks to fill an academic position at the level of assistant professor.
The School currently runs two degree programmes, leading to University of Nottingham degrees in BSc Honours Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and BSc Honours Statistics. Most of our students graduate in Ningbo, China, with all teaching delivered in English, the academic working language of the university.
About You
The person appointed will be expected to conduct their own research and play a leading role in the research activities of the School. The position is open to candidates with research interests in any field of Applied Mathematics or Statistics, with a strong record of mathematical publications in highly regarded journals (A, A* by the Journal Ranking of the Australian Mathematical Society).
We seek to appoint an articulate teacher with international experience of teaching mathematics in English, as the successful candidate will be expected to teach modules offered by the School of Mathematical Sciences.
Applicants should currently hold a lecturer/assistant professor rank or have at least two years of experience as a PostDoc.

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement. Salary will be within the range of RMB 445,732 to RMB 586,945 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). Benefits include accommodation allowance, insurances, schooling support, home flight, relocation & repatriation support, and paid annual leave.
