About The Role
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary/secondary school in Witney, Oxford.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including but not limited to:
o Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
o Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
o Speech and Language Difficulties
o Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Assisting with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
* Supporting pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development
* Creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Communicating effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
* Attending team meetings and professional development opportunities
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting or experience working within healthcare
* Strong understanding of different SEN and the strategies to support pupils with these needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential
