An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dynamic, hardworking nurse to join our Leadership team as a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse on Ward 11 within Sherwood Forest Hospitals.
We are looking for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic staff member to take on the role of Ward Sister / Charge Nurse on the newly created trauma orthopaedic ward, which will provide orthopaedic care for patients who have sustained orthopaedic injuries requiring both surgical and conservative management. This will increase our current orthopaedic bed base by 24 beds and will be a second trauma orthopaedic ward.
The suitable candidate should have good leadership and communication skills to assist the team in providing outstanding care for all patients. They should be confident, supportive, and passionate about patient care.
The applicant will be required to work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to promote and monitor safe, effective practice through the CARE values and the strategic priorities. They will be responsible for maintaining safe staffing levels.
You will be expected to support and implement changes to clinical practice as required. You will be required to encourage professional development within the team, perform audits, and manage and mitigate your own budget.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Good communication skills with clear written and oral skills.
Qualifications
* Degree in Nursing or equivalent clinical professional qualification.
* Registered clinical professional qualification in teaching and assessing or equivalent.
* Working towards Masters qualification or equivalent.
Further Training
* Evidence of personal and professional development in clinical practice/management.
* Diploma in management or relevant subject or willingness to undertake.
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience, with experience in a senior position within the specialty.
* Experience of operating and communicating effectively with clinicians and multi-disciplinary teams.
* Experience of working with external agencies and influencing internal change.
* Experience of initiating, conducting, and evaluating risk assessments and investigations.
* Experience of leading and managing staff.
* Experience of working towards Care Quality Commission and NHS Resolution standards.
* Experience in complaints management.
* Experience of service improvement methodologies.
Contractual
* Ability to work flexibly.
* Professional Registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC).
