The older peoples mental health service has a well established multidisciplinary team. The psychology team provide a number of psychological approaches to service users including evidence based psychological therapies (including but not exclusively CBT, CAT, EMDR, ACT, systemic therapy). Evidence of training in one or more evidence based psychology therapy is welcomed. We have good links across the pathway of the mental health provision for older people in Newcastle and work closely with all professional groups as well as wider regional and national groups in psychology/older peoples services. Our service aims to provide hope and achieve positive treatment outcomes for service users, their family and carers, and we have a focus also on organisational and community transformation needs. As part of this we wish to continue to enhance service user involvement, alongside working in line with the developing an evidence base and evaluation of what we provide and its effect, adhering to best practice. As a senior clinician within the team, you will develop within your clinical, supervision and leadership role. Successful candidates will receive clinical and professional supervision from Principal or Consultant Clinical Psychologists in the department as well as being part of the psychology team which includes psychologists, mental health well being practitioners, trainee and assistant psychologists.
