Job Title: SEND Support Team Leader

Rate: £20 - £23 per hour
Eden Brown are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Support Team Leader for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire.
This is a full-time temporary role (37 hours per week, Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 4:30pm) from 10th March to 30th April initially.
This role is crucial in leading and coordinating support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to ensure they receive the appropriate assistance to succeed in their studies. You will work closely with students, staff, parents, and external agencies to oversee the implementation and review of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage a team of SEND support staff, ensuring effective deployment to meet student needs.
2. Oversee the provision of support for students with SEND, including those with EHCPs, ensuring high standards of delivery.
3. Ensure that all EHCPs are reviewed, monitored, and implemented effectively in line with legal and college requirements.
4. Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
5. Provide training, guidance, and professional development to support staff to enhance SEND provision.
6. Monitor student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly.
7. Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting on SEND provision.
Essential Criteria:
1. Experience of working with a disadvantaged client group.
2. Experience of working with basic or functional skills or ESOL.
3. Proven managerial experience within a SEND or education setting.
4. Strong knowledge of EHCPs and the statutory requirements surrounding them.
5. Experience working with young people with a range of SEND needs in a Further Education or similar environment.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and external agencies.
8. A commitment to promoting inclusion and student success.
Desirable:
1. Relevant qualifications in SEND, education, or leadership.
2. Experience in training and developing staff in SEND practices.
