We have a great opportunity to join the education team at HMP Durham as a Construction Trainer on a permanent, part-time basis, working 18.5 hours per week.
The role
HMP Durham are looking for an experienced Construction trainer to join their team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, tailoring your teaching to meet the needs of each individual learner. We believe in providing our learners with the tools they need to build a brighter future and increase their employability. Responsibilities
Develop and deliver high-quality lessons in Construction skills, such as P&D, Plumbing, Joinery, Bricklaying, tiling etc.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
Assess learner needs and develop individualised learning plans.
Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
Support learners in achieving their learning aims.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in functional skills education.What we need from you
To be successful in the role Trainer, you will need Experience working within any one or more of the following fields:
Bricklaying
Plumbing
Tiling
Joinery
P&D
Commitment to obtain the relevant assessor/teaching qualification within a specified time scale.
Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to work towards.Colleague Benefits
