This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated Dietitian with an interest in surgery and acute nutrition support.
This post requires a person who is able to work with and influence the MDT in their specialist area and provide a high-quality service to patients.
We are a supportive department and organisation and will provide the successful candidate with all the training/support required. If you are looking for a new challenge, to lead and develop on the nutritional management of surgical patients, this is the post for you.
Your varied and complex caseload will include managing the nutrition of peri-operative patients and those recovering from surgery. There will be an expectation to develop strong links with the MDT, which will require excellent communication skills.
The post holder will utilise their specialist knowledge of oral, enteral, and parenteral feeding strategies. Although experience in each of these would be beneficial, there would be ample opportunity for training to upskill.
There will be opportunities to improve skills and knowledge in other specialist areas, such as gastroenterology and critical care. Our experienced and supportive team will be able to provide training and supervision to support your development in these areas.
Alongside the acute setting, there will be scope for working in the outpatient setting, with clinics that provide an interesting caseload to maintain a breadth of dietetic knowledge.
You will be joining the friendly and experienced team of Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioners, Dietetic Assistants, and Nutrition Nurse Specialists (NNS) at an Outstanding Trust, playing a vital role in service delivery, quality improvement, education, and resource development.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. High-quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us.
