Interim Transport Service Manager Start date – ASAP East Midlands £525 - £575 Inside IR35 (Umbrella) 3 months initially Hybrid – Full time Reporting into the Head of Highways and Transport, you will be responsible for the management and efficient delivery of the Councils Transport contracts. This includes over 1000 home to school users, as well as operational oversight of Parking, Fleet and Transport Strategy Services. In this role you will strategic leadership role as the Transport Service Manager, where you’ll have the chance to drive innovative transport solutions, manage high-impact projects, and play a key part in shaping sustainable transport policies for the future. Your role as Transport Service Manager: Lead the transport team in developing and delivering transport strategies, ensuring alignment with Council policies and objectives. Oversee the development of transport policies, integrating Children’s Services and Adult Social Care transport needs with public transport provisions. Manage and monitor transport contracts, performance, and integrated Council budgets to meet service requirements and objectives. Provide strategic leadership to ensure effective public and passenger transport services, including overseeing Demand Responsive Transport and bus services. Manage a diverse team, overseeing fleet services, parking policy development, and transport service improvements while ensuring cost-effective, high-quality delivery. Your previous experience as Transport Service Manager: Excellent knowledge of SEND Transport legislation Transport Management experience in a Local Authority setting. Strong understanding of home to school transport assistance. Experience in leading teams on contracts and commissioning with an understanding of understanding team budgets.
