About the Job Reporting into the Global IT Director, this role is responsible for leading the development and operations of technologies for the IB’s Content Delivery product domain, encompassing product support, service efficiency, change management and the development of new products. The successful candidate will champion new development practices, creative solutions and strategies within the DevOps framework to streamline operations, improve deployment processes and accelerate time-to-market for new features and products. The role will involve working closely with the Global IT Director and key Digital Office stakeholders, whilst leading a global team of Delivery Managers within the Content Delivery domain to build engineering capabilities, foster a culture of innovation and deliver on the digital transformation of the IB. Maintaining strong lines of communication with the IT architectural team, IT Heads, Product Leads and technology vendors will be required in order to plan and align on key drivers (including: Interdependencies, resource and skills requirements, metrics, solutions) that support the activities underpinning the successful delivery of operational goals, whilst meeting the needs of stakeholder groups. Key Responsibilities Ensure systems supporting content delivery including professional learning & development technology and integration services, are working as expected in line with the goals and changes agreed upon with the Product Management Heads. Deliver on the guiding principles for the digital transformation of the IB which aim to enable modular and secure technology architecture and manage Tech Debt, demonstrating efficient, resilient and predictable technology delivery capabilities. Ensure new capabilities, technology platform migrations, integrations and product security are carefully planned. Transform and automate functionalities as specified, test systems for operational impact and ensure stable transitions to live environments that meet efficiency metrics. Lead and drive integration of DevOps practices to enhance product development efficiency and reliability, fostering culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with Product team and IT stakeholders to manage product changes ensuring compliance with architectural standards, integration frameworks and quality standards, confirming resource / skills readiness pre transition to operational systems. Develop yearly and quarterly goals and objectives aligned with organisational and departmental priorities. Responsible for financial planning, resource planning, training and development. Manage monthly operations review with IT Service Delivery Manager and key stakeholders in regard to agreed upon SLA’s. About you Substantial experience working in a similar role for a global organisation. Masters in IT, Computer Science or related discipline. Understanding of the K-12 education sector globally and the role and market for curriculum’s like the IB’s. Basic understanding of software development processes, methodologies and technologies. Knowledge of IT systems, software development life cycle, Agile framework, ITIL, ECMS & PL systems. Knowledge of trends, technologies and emerging innovations in educational technology. Proficiency in Agile project management practices, with a focus on Scrum to facilitate product development cycles. Experience in managing a globally distributed team whilst interacting with multiple stakeholders across geographies. Experience building and managing a team of Product Engineers. Experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including, Product Managers, Instructional Designers, Educators, and Administrators. Ability to build trust, credibility and relationships at all levels through effective conflict management and the ability to negotiate effective and sustainable outcomes. Passionate advocate for utilising technology / digital platforms to enhance ways of working. Keen aptitude for identifying challenges, structuring complexity, generating creative solutions and making informed decisions in order to overcome obstacles. Ability to understand the needs and perspectives of internal stakeholders and external users.
