CDM Project Manager
Cheshire-based (with wider UK travel)
Up to £70,000 plus benefits
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by one of the UKs leading investment organisations who are looking to bring onboard a new CDM Project Manager. The organisation has several assets and PFI contracts all across the UK, with intention to grow, and a portfolio which sits at circa £1.3 billion.
The vision for this role is a 'Client-led' leadership role across numerous construction projects that supports the business in achieving and maintaining best practice. Reporting to the Director of SHEQ, the role contributes to the delivery of the strategic goals, to ensure that project teams, site managers, and contractors can meet their legal obligations and deliver the company H&S Standards. The main function of the role is to engage with the project and site teams and provide a proactive and visible presence to support teams as they fulfil the CDM due diligence and manage construction health and safety risks.
Responsibilities of the CDM Project Manager will include:
1. Working with the Building/Project Managers, Health and Safety Team, and other key stakeholders to ensure a culture of best practice health and safety across the project portfolio
2. Undertaking a regular audit schedule to ensure the consistency of projects for health and safety performance and site-management
3. Providing expert guidance with regards to building safety regulations for all contractors on site
4. Supporting the wider team in the development and delivery of the CDM data and strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the health and safety function internally and externally
The successful CDM Project Manager will have:
1. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and relevant status within a membership body - IOSH / IIRSM
2. A current understanding of the building controls and regulations for commercial and residential builds
3. Experience in influencing and engaging across all levels of the organisation
4. Experience working with Contractors and Principle Designers on-site to ensure projects run in accordance with business planning and CDM requirements
