Established Distributor and Manufacturer of Pumps for a diverse range of industry sectors, requires a highly experienced General Manager, to work alongside the Managing Director, overseeing the operational and commercial aspects within the business. Providing technical and operational support, assisting with the strategic and day to day management of the business, as General Manager, you would be responsible for overseeing daily operations, reviewing and implementing operational procedures and managing budgets.
Successful candidate for the position of General Manager should possess a background, qualifications and experience within Mechanical Engineering, strong technical and regulatory knowledge and be a proficient leader with exceptional man management skills. Duties and Responsibilities of General Manager:
* Supervising the work of multiple teams
* Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time
* Coordinating with team members, partners and clients
* Ensuring regulatory compliance
* Managing budgets
* Finding solutions for technical issues
* Establishing safety procedures
* Overseeing quality assurance
* Overseeing equipment maintenance strategy
* Preparing and reviewing standard procedural documents for daily operations
* Overseeing procurement and staff recruitment
* Supervising staff performance across all levels, conducting periodic employee appraisals
* Overseeing staff training and development programs
* Reviewing periodic reports and adjusting operations to better meet company goals
Skills/Qualifications required for the role of General Manager:
* Mechanical Engineering experience/qualifications - essential (minimum City & Guilds, HNC)
* Previous experience as a General Manager in a similar industry desirable.
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Strong leadership and man-management ability
* Commercially astute and business aware
* Driven, analytical with high attention to detail
* IT proficient
* Project management experience
* Technical knowledge and ability
Location: Hall Green, Birmingham, West Midlands
Hours: Mon to Friday 9 am – 5 pm (40 hours)
Salary: £45,000 p.a. to £60,000 p.a. dependent upon experience
