This post is suitable for Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists.
The team serves the population of Furness and has its base in Barrow. It is an established team with a friendly and supportive culture. There is a visible and supportive leadership team who are committed to clinical supervision and professional development.
This is a demanding role in a busy service. Ideally, you will have current or previous experience of working within a mental health setting. You will be clinically confident in working with individuals with complex needs and be able to work effectively in a multi professional context. You should have a collaborative and enthusiastic approach as well as passion and commitment in developing and promoting recovery based approaches for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.
The post requires that you're a good communicator, and are able to adopt a flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to your work.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will take on some leadership activities such as contributing to the learning and development of junior team members.
We encourage staff to continue to develop your own specialist knowledge and competence. Your development will be guided using clinical supervision, management supervision, Team/Peer support, internal and external training opportunities, including the Trust's appraisal process.
The service is operational between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Main duties of the job
The main job role is to perform duties as a Keyworker and you will manage a caseload of service users with a range of complex needs. You will develop care plans and deliver evidence based interventions and treatments to service users alongside managing risks in the community.
Part of your role will require you to undertake team duty responsibilities. This role involves managing unplanned patient work within the team, and responding to escalation of risk/crisis situations.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will also take on some leadership activities such as contributing to the learning and development of junior team members, and taking a lead on/or contributing to projects identified by the Furness CMHT leadership team.
In return you will benefit from developing your own specialist knowledge and competence. Your development will be guided using clinical supervision, management supervision, team/peer support, specialist supervision, internal and external training opportunities, and the Trust's appraisal process.
The service is based at Duddon House, Fairfield Lane, Barrow. The service is operational between the hours of and 5pm although flexible working can be considered.

Bank only workers for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust are eligible for the scheme if they have not held a substantive role in Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System in the last 12 months (subject to all other terms and conditions being met). These incentives are subject to recovery clauses within the first 6 months of employment. This bonus is applicable from 1st July 2024 - 30th September 2024.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Registered Mental Health Nurse Degree, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
2. Currently registered with a professional body.
Knowledge
Essential
3. Knowledge of a range of evidence based therapeutic interventions.
4. Understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
5. Knowledge and practice of the Mental Health Act 1983.
6. Knowledge and practice of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Experience
Essential
7. Minimum of 18 months post registered experience.
8. Experience of risk management, care co-ordination/managing a caseload of clients with a range of mental health needs.
Skills
