Job summary The Pharmacy at St Peter's Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and well organised individual to join our department as a Pharmacy Assistant. We are a busy Pharmacy department and your role will involve you supporting the Pharmacy team with the supply of medicines to the wards, clinics and outpatient areas as well as working on the Pharmacy hatch to be the first point of contact for staff and visitors. You will be working in a team alongside other Pharmacy Assistants, Senior Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists. The core working hours are 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills to be able to effectively work alongside staff of all grades throughout the Hospital. You will be hard working and keen to learn and have the ability to prioritise work. Main duties of the job The post holder will support Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in all sections of the Pharmacy on a rotational basis which includes working in the dispensary and on wards as well as being based in distribution. You will carry out your duties supervised by qualified staff and contribute to the development of pharmacy services. You will promote the highest of standards of professional practice, whilst observing at all times the "statement on professional Conduct" issued by the GPhC. You will be required to follow all legal and departmental practices including Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) as well as COSHH and lifting and handling regulations and all Trust Policies and Procedures.
