Job Description
The Financial Accountant will play a key role in the financial reporting and compliance activities of the company. This role is ideal for someone looking to leverage their practice experience in an industry setting, providing exposure to a diverse set of responsibilities and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
* Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Oversee the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and review journal entries.
* Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and tax returns.
* Support the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with the FP&A team.
* Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
* Maintain a strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Liaise with external auditors, providing required information and ensuring audit processes run smoothly.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial data and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
* Assist with ad-hoc projects such as system implementations and process improvements.
Key Requirements:
* ACA qualified with experience in a Big 4 or Top 10 firm.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/UK GAAP).
* Proven experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, capable of explaining financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
