The Vacancy We have an exciting opportunity for Casual Rehabilitation Officer to join Home First Myos House, Extra Care Housing for people living with Dementia. We work in partnership with other health and social care professionals to provide a person-centred service, to prevent avoidable admissions to hospital and long-term care. Home First- Myos House 'helps people do things for themselves' rather than 'doing it for them' through support programmes that enables people to optimise their daily living skills and well-being. The role will involve working with individuals and their circle of support to maintain their confidence and continue living well with Dementia - based on their abilities and strengths and those of their family and community. We are on site 24/7, 365 days to provide support for their assessed needs and to attend in emergency situations. As a Rehabilitation Officer, you will need to be solution focused, be able to motivate others, have excellent decision making and interpersonal skills and be able to work autonomously in complex situations. With support from the Senior Officer, you will be leading the shift and be on hand to support the Reablement Assistants who will be delivering care. The post offers a fantastic work life balance with part time hours. Support to people operates on a rolling rota basis requiring 3 to 4 to shifts per week, covering AM shifts 07:00 to 15:00, and PM shift 15:00- 23:00, with an allocated 30 minute unpaid lunch break. The post includes weekend and bank holiday working. For those who would like to work more hours there is always ample opportunity to work extra hours. A qualification in care is desirable, although not essential as you will receive full induction and training.
