Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD based in Amesbury. This long-term role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey and has the potential to turn permanent for the right candidate. About the Role: As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a Year 5 pupil with ADHD, providing tailored support to help them succeed in their learning environment. You will be responsible for offering both academic and emotional support, ensuring the pupil is engaged, focused, and able to manage their learning in a structured and nurturing setting. The role involves working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure the pupil's individual needs are met. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD, both in and outside of the classroom. Assist the pupil in staying focused, managing their behaviour, and completing tasks. Implement strategies from the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) to support their learning. Foster a positive, calm, and structured environment to support the pupil’s emotional and academic development. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor the pupil’s progress and adapt support as necessary. Provide regular updates and feedback to the SENCO and parents as required. Key Requirements: Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly ADHD. Strong understanding of ADHD and effective strategies for supporting pupils with attention and behavioural challenges. Experience in a classroom setting, ideally supporting children in Key Stage 2. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach to supporting children’s learning.
