Shift Patterns will be:
Nights: 19:45-07:15
Advanced Skills Required
* Analysis of blood results;
* Venepuncture;
* Cannulation;
* Administration of IV drugs;
* Verification of expected deaths;
* Taking and interpreting of 12 lead ECG's;
* CPR/Advance Life Support;
* Advising nursing staff regarding drug availability and usage;
* Review of patient post falls assessments;
* Advice regarding care and management of CVP lines;
* Support for NIV management;
* Support for patients with mental health issues.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be a key player in supporting the Corporate Operational team as the Senior Nurse team bed manager, site management, and HOOH coordinator, utilizing your advanced clinical skills.
You will be a clinical expert with the ability to make clinical decisions in relation to deteriorating patients and site management, demonstrating excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Duties also include:
* Acting as site fire warden;
* Health and safety responsibilities;
* Infection control advice;
* Mental Health Trust signatory for MH sections;
* Managing patient affairs in the absence of the post holder;
* Addressing security and safeguarding issues out of normal working hours;
* Enacting plans left by Matrons, reallocating and booking nursing staff out of hours;
* Booking last minute Locum Doctors requests;
* Managing disciplinary issues and serious untoward incidents;
* Handling complaints and patient affairs.

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
* First level RGN with 2 years experience in a senior nursing role;
* Diploma/Degree in Health related topic;
* ALS/PLS (must be completed within 6 months of appointment);
* Evidence of continued professional development;
* Evidence of post-reg specialist clinical learning.
Experience Required
* Experience in a healthcare environment for a minimum of 2 years;
* Extensive post-reg experience in an acute setting;
* Management and leadership experience;
* Experience of writing policies and protocols;
* Research or audit experience.
Knowledge Required
* Understanding of priorities within an acute Trust;
* Knowledge of government policies impacting patient admission;
* Excellent communication and organisational skills;
* Ability to work under pressure and make decisions.
