We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Senior Projects Engineer position, joining our Nottingham, PA team!
* SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday approximately 45+ hours a week

Summary
This role is responsible for leading and performing engineering projects with a primary focus on manufacturing, automation, equipment/process engineering, and continuous improvement which may include equipment redesign.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Administration & Implementation
* Plans and leads implementations across the organization on operational mechanical maintenance projects on time and at or below budget for current and new product introductions.
* Supports the specification, evaluation, acquisition, installation and qualification of equipment.
* Manages tasks such as updating / maintaining / communicating project plans, progress reports and status updates.
* Collaborates with electrical engineer, PLC technicians, maintenance and others in the integrating of mechanical and electronic hardware for electromechanical product designs.
* Prepares and submits environmental reports under the direction of the Plant Engineer for air, water, hazardous waste and waste treatment that meet policy guidelines for federal, state and local standards.
* Collaborates with plant management to utilize equipment to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques and a Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Project Analysis
* Assesses problem situations to identify root cause, gathers and processes relevant information, and makes recommendations and/or resolves the problem.
* Performs calculations and/or uses computer analysis software to develop, analyze, and refine product models and design concepts.
* Determines the specification, acquisition, installation and qualification of equipment needed to meet manufacturing and production goals.
* Evaluates operating metrics and supports development of new features and mechatronic systems.
Communications
* Effectively communicates major milestones (written or oral), priorities, bottlenecks and other major problems, across audiences at all levels of the organization.
* Collaborates and communicates with project team members cross-functionally and across the organizations in support of a variety of objectives throughout the full development lifecycle.
* Engages supervisors/maintenance staff and others to identify problems, malfunctions or to propose solutions.
* Confers with management and staff regarding safety procedures, equipment, and supplies.
* Partners with contractors to complete a variety of projects.
Project Design
* Uses basic knowledge of control systems for the applied design, operation, or troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
* Translates concepts and information into images for manufacturing equipment projects.
* Solicits feedback from a variety of departments to modify designs, ensuring that established efficiency and safety targets are met.
* Recommends production/processing equipment or fixtures based on the organizational needs.
* Assists in reducing cost through re-engineering product/material redesign.
* Plan and develop facility expansion strategies and layouts.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Electro-Mechanical Engineering preferred.
* 10+ years related experience in a Manufacturing or Food Production environment is preferred.
* Microsoft Office 365 Suite intermediate experience required; advanced skills preferred.
* Lean Six Sigma green belt certification preferred, not required at hire.
* Must be willing to travel 25% of time in order to complete projects at other company plants/locations.
* Working knowledge of project-based work structures and capturing documentation.
* Written communication skills to accurately create, maintain, and distribute dashboards, project timelines, and status reports.
* Ability to use statics, dynamics (or applied mechanics), strength of materials, engineering materials, engineering standards, and manufacturing processes to aid in the characterization, analysis, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
* Proficient time management skills to concentrate efforts on most important priorities and manage a broad range of activities.
* Solid communication skills to effectively work with a broad spectrum of project team members to document issues, identify barriers and recommend suggested improvements.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AutoDesk 2D and 3D CAD software and MS Project.
* Uses differential and integral calculus to characterize the static and dynamic performance of electro-mechanical systems.
* Experience leading and directing the work of others, direct and indirect reports.
* Performs other special projects/tasks assigned by management.
* Participates in continuous improvement or problem/solving activities.
* Assist in the development and upkeep of Preventative Maintenance System.
* Self-starter attitude and ownership mentality for projects.
* Willingness to continuously learn and expand responsibilities.
Physical requirements and work environment:
* Performs work required for this position in an office and manufacturing environment with often changes in temperature and overall environment (hot, cold, humid etc).
* Remains sedentary for moderate to extended periods of time.
* Required to use a computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
