Clinical Assessor – Nurse
Exciting opportunity to support the Victims’ Payment Board (VPB) in delivery of the clinical assessment service for the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme. We are now recruiting for experienced nurses & allied health professionals who have expertise/experience in a mental health or psychiatric background with more than two years’ post-registration experience.
Benefits:

2. Initial 6 weeks’ training and ongoing support provided (Fully Paid!).
3. Flexible work patterns – Work between 8am and 8pm, contracted to work 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week.
4. Hybrid Working – predominantly working from home, with clinic visits required.

Responsibilities:
1. Meet face to face both physically and/or virtually and review available medical evidence from applicants to determine the permanence of an applicant’s condition and their percentage disablement.
2. Play a pro-active role in seeking insight and further medical evidence from GPs and other healthcare professionals to support the applicant’s TPDPS application.
3. Gather relevant information from the applicant and/or representative, and analyse and interpret clinical information along with any other supporting evidence.
4. Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner, including a detailed history, full justification, and conclusion from evidence gathered to support the VPB in its decision-making.
Criteria:
1. A minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience.
2. Fully registered without sanction or conditions of practice with the NMC.
3. A demonstrable background in a Mental Health/Psychiatric specialty.
4. Ability to work at pace, set boundaries, manage conversations, and keep to timescales.
5. Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions, and cultures.
6. Report writing skills with an ability to deal with a high percentage of work using a laptop and IT systems.
