About the Job: This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager with previous experience in the maintenance and construction industry to join our team in Central London. At Capital we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, good quality services with health and safety being at the heart of everything we do. The HSEQ Manager will need to implement and oversee policies and procedures to ensure that the business operates safely and complies with both H&S and environmental regulations. The role will work closely with Seniors within the business to provide HSEQ guidance, support and sustainable solutions. Duties will include but not limited to: Overseeing the development and management of the H&S Management systems including the input and reporting on data, maintaining and keeping up to date safety compliance records and ISO’s, managing sub-contractor compliance, H&S incident reporting and investigation, implementation of training programmes Leading and mentoring a team of SHE professionals and collaborating with teams across the business to ensure continuous improvement in safety performance and risk management Implementing and Overseeing all H&S policies and procedures along with monitoring legal compliance, actively suggesting improvements to the business Conducting Audits and Assisting with Auditing processes within the company Carrying out Health and Safety QC’s and spot checks along with ensuring that all business operations adhere to UK H&S Laws, Legislation, regulations and best practices Chairing H&S Meetings, including organising and preparing for meetings with both internal staff, subcontractors and clients, such as Toolbox Talks, Onboarding new subcontractors, etc. Providing regular reports on safety performance and compliance Reviewing and creating RAMS Managing quality reports, both surveys and completion reports. Ensuring ISO administration, compliance and annual audits / accreditation is achieved (ISO, environmental and H&S accreditation) Leading on the company’s net zero target journey and accreditations, by identifying opportunities to improve sustainability within the business, implementing new strategies, and setting innovative and measurable targets Reporting on sustainability and collaborating with seniors to promote sustainability initiatives Required qualifications and experience: NEBOSH General certificate or NVQ Level 5 or equivalent qualification required as a minimum Proven leadership experience with substantial expertise in transforming Health & Safety cultures within construction or building maintenance environments. Strong knowledge of UK H&S Laws, Legislation, regulations and practices including knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 & 50001 (preferred) and auditing experience Previous experience within, complex multistakeholder environments and exceptional organisational and communication skills Expertise in strategic risk management discussions, influencing crossdepartmental teams, and developing effective mitigation plans. Previous and proven experience working in a fastpaced environment, a detail-oriented individual that is committed to delivering high quality results working both independently and in a team while meeting set deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and professional email etiquette Job type: Permanent and Full Time Date: January 2025 Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum The Company reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the Company’s business
