Job Description Your role within the Home will be to play a critical role in leading a care team to deliver outstanding individualised care to ensure the well-being of residents.
To liaise with the residents families, friends, GP, community nurses, specialists and pharmacists and to maintain the 6 broad values of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment.
You will be responsible for administering prescribed medicines in accordance with the company procedures and NMC guidelines, assessing all aspects of each Residents care needs, whilst maintaining accurate records and ensuring that each Resident has an individualised Care Plan.
You will be working within a team of highly trained nurses while also receiving great support from the Management team.
The role includes delivering clinical excellence in a professional manner through direct Nursing care whilst effectively leading and supervising a multidisciplinary team.
Key result areas/Main Responsibilities To create a safe, secure and loving environment for the resident and his/her family To provide and maintain the standard of resident care required by the NMC Code of Professional Conduct To provide a relaxed and informal situation so that the residents and their families feel there is adequate time to discuss their problems To implement nursing policies in the Home in consultation with Senior Nurse/Deputy manager/ Nurse Manager To provide the necessary leadership so that high standards of care are maintained functions To act up as required for nurse in charge Participates in the clinical supervision of nursing care To assess the residents individual, spiritual, emotional and physical needs Prepares and receives Home reports To assist Senior Nurse/Deputy Manager in maintaining good order, environmental hygiene and appearance of nursing and ancillary staff within the Home Documents specific nursing care as Primary Nurse Liaises and co-operates with medical staff ensuring that the treatments and medicines ordered are administered Communicates and co-operates with physiotherapist, cook and medical team i.e Gps etc where necessary To be familiar with procedures for dealing with major and minor emergencies and to document accurately all statements To be aware of the implications of the Health & Safety at Work Act To have regard to the safe custody and correct usage of all controlled drugs.
Ensures in the absence of Senior Nurse/Deputy manager that all matters relating to complaints, accidents, incidents and industrial relations are promptly and sympathetically dealt with and reported to Nurse Manager Responsible with Senior Nurse/Deputy Manager that all equipment is kept in working order, reporting any faults, ordering replacements whenever necessary Ensures that the correct economic stock levels of nursing supplies and other Home supplies are maintained to provide for needs of residents care.

Pay and Terms and Conditions Salary per annum (pro-rata for part-time) Hours Normal full-time hours of duty are 36hours per week, exclusive of meal times.
Medical Appointment will be subject to a successful pre-employment health assessment.
Holidays 28 days each year; (and 12 statutory and public) holidays pro rata.
