Michelle Denny Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a new client who specializes in Global custom-tailored transport solutions, in their search for a highly organized, entrepreneurial Senior Freight and Logistics Executive to join their dynamic team based in Ipswich.
Fully office based in Ipswich on the 2nd floor (with wheelchair access).
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.30pm.

Job Details
The main purpose of this role will be to ensure that the business delivers a professional, efficient, cost-effective global logistics service in accordance with compliance, business objectives, and customer requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Build and maintain an optimal operating platform to support current and future Global forwarding business including cost reduction and 100% compliance with legislation and company best practices.
2. Co-ordinate and manage the end-to-end logistics of oversized and complicated international shipments, including air, sea, road, and charter.
3. Liaise with clients to understand their shipping needs and provide tailored solutions.
4. Prepare and process shipping documentation related to international freight operations.
5. Negotiate rates, quotations, and contracts with carriers, shipping lines, and other service providers.
6. Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
7. Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and other pertinent information.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
9. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving any problems efficiently.
10. Remain in touch with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
Key Skills and Experience
1. Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder (Ideally 5 years).
2. Qualifications in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, Incoterms, commodity codes, and documentation.
4. Excellent organizational, time-management, negotiating, and communication skills with the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
5. Proficiency with logistics software, ERP system, and MS Office Suite.
6. Knowledge of OOG, heavy, complex, or project-related shipments would be an advantage.
7. Reliable, a strong team player who demonstrates attention to detail and has a problem-solving mindset.
8. If you are fluent in Spanish too, that would be a real bonus!
