Sun Originals is a brand new video production studio making premium series for The Sun, Sun Sport and Fabulous brands. Creating, developing and producing a slate of brand new original shows, the team are helping The Sun reach its next generation of viewers.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Producer you will help create compelling content that informs and engages audiences. You will be part of the team producing content, working with the Producer to cast, film and produce high quality video for various channels and platforms.
We are looking for a versatile, creative and driven team Assistant Producer to help make videos for our Sports YouTube channel.
Day to day you will:
1. Cast, location find, deal with contributors and on-screen talent, as well as working on location or in a studio with a Producer across a range of sports-related formats for YouTube and other platforms.
2. Collaborate with Producers to develop and produce original sports-related video content for YouTube and other digital platforms.
3. Assist with the casting process, ensuring contributors and on-screen talent align with the creative vision of each project.
4. Scout and secure locations suitable for filming, ensuring logistical needs are met.
5. Work on location or in studio settings to support the Producer in delivering high-quality video content.
6. Manage day-to-day production tasks, including liaising with contributors, organising schedules, and ensuring smooth operations during shoots.
7. Edit or assist with post-production workflows, ensuring content meets brand standards and deadlines.
What we are looking for from you:
1. Experience of working on original sports-related content for YouTube or other digital platforms is essential and some second-camera filming experience would be desirable.
2. A creative and proactive approach to storytelling, with a strong understanding of what engages digital audiences.
3. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
4. Experience in casting and working with on-screen talent.
5. Knowledge of location scouting and the logistical requirements of video production.
6. Technical experience with second-camera filming is desirable but not essential.
7. A passion for sport and a strong understanding of the digital video landscape.
8. A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively as part of a creative team.
