The Sustainability & Environment Manager will be part of the Safety, Licensing and Assurance (SLA) function, reporting to the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) Lead. The SLA function is accountable for the setting and overseeing standards and strategies for delivery to meet GBN’s HSSEQ policies, including risk and assurance, regulatory, consents, licensing and permitting and quality.
As Sustainability & Environment Manager you will be responsible for developing the SMR Project’s environmental, sustainability, and social impact elements. * Establish and manage frameworks for monitoring environmental performance, tracking sustainability metrics, and ensuring accurate reporting.
* Ensure compliance with government and regulatory reporting requirements, such as carbon accounting and biodiversity impact reporting.
* Lead incident investigations related to environmental matters, ensuring lessons learned are shared and improvements are implemented.
* Collaborate with technical, commercial, and project teams to ensure environmental considerations are factored into all decisions.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that aligns with cultural values.
Contribute to maintaining a respectful and collaborative workplace, valuing diversity, and promoting teamwork.
Make informed decisions and solve problems effectively, considering diverse perspectives and organisational goals.
