Job Overview
The Great Western Hospital is pleased to offer the opportunity for Reporting Sonographers to join the existing Radiology team to enhance the ongoing development of our service.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* To perform ultrasound scans including highly specialist techniques and care for patients during these examinations.
* To independently assess each patient and adapt scanning technique according to the needs of the patient.
* To write formal reports in a concise and professional manner.
* To discuss ultrasound findings with other practitioners and clinicians.
* To manage their own workload and help others when possible.
* To adhere to all Trust policies including Health and Safety Regulations.
* To be able to use the departmental radiology information computer system (RIS) and be conversant with the picture archive system (PACS).
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent for a Health Care related profession.
* Post Graduate diploma in ultrasound or equivalent.
* Registration with the Health Professions Council or equivalent.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
Experience:
* Current experience in Ultrasound scanning.
* Post-qualification experience of working in the NHS.
Skills:
* Developed ultrasound scanning skills.
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team or single-handedly.
* Excellent patient care.
* Good communication skills.
