The LADO is a statutory post in which you must act upon all cases where it has been alleged that a person who works or volunteers with children has: behaved in a way that has harmed a child, or may have harmed a child possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicates they may pose a risk of harm to children behaved or may have behaved in a way that indicates they may not be suitable to work with children The teammanage all allegations made against professionals who are in a position of trust and takeresponsibilityfor ensuring that appropriate safeguards are immediately put into place to safeguard children. You will co-ordinateinformation in relation to all allegations made, ensuring that information is shared with relevant key professionals, such as the police. You will be responsible for convening and chairing multi-agency Allegations Management Meetings where the threshold for LADO intervention is met. To ensure policies and procedures are followed to safeguard children, you will providetraining to partner agencies to raise the awareness of the LADO. Cambridgeshire LADO also represent Childrens Services by attending Cambridgeshire and Peterborough MAPPA meetings. About you The role requires a Social Work qualification where you can evidence you have experience in working in a fast paced work environment where referrals received require a timely response, that you have experience in safeguarding children and are able to recognise, analyse and manage risk.
