We need a Senior Internal Auditor to join us at AWE Nuclear Security Technologies.

Location: Hybrid and fully flexible working, with our offices based near Reading at RG7 4PR. You will be onsite about 3 days per week.
Salary Range starts at: £43,930, this is open to upwards negotiation if you have the skills and experience that we need.

You will be joining the business as it embarks on a major transformation programme, to ensure that we can continue to help deliver the UK's nuclear deterrent, both now and in the future. The Internal Audit function is crucial in ensuring that our governance, risk management and control frameworks are designed and operating effectively.
A typical day for a Senior Internal Auditor could look like this:
1. Managing your own allocation of audits, from developing terms of reference through testing to reporting.
2. Delivering high quality audits within agreed timelines.
3. Gaining agreement to audit findings and follow-up of audit issues and actions in collaboration with stakeholders.
4. Leading and supporting the development of initiatives aligned with the audit strategy and best practice.
5. Identifying and developing improvements to the end-to-end audit process.
6. Coaching and mentoring team members.
We would like you to demonstrate or have experience of:
1. Leading on complex audits and delivering them to time and quality.
2. Knowledge and application of risk-based internal auditing, in the context of the three lines model and working with other assurance providers.
3. Proficiency with audit techniques to address specific testing needs of individual audit & consultancy assignments.
4. Engaging with multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders to facilitate agreement and implementation of recommendations.
Your CV will stand out if we see the following:
1. Background in a Science & Technology / Project-based / regulated environment.
2. Experience of auditing transformation or major infrastructure projects, manufacturing, cyber security or Environmental, Social and Governance.
3. Chartered or Certified member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, or Specialist Professional, Technical, Project Management or Change.

You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Security/ Developed Vetting Clearance (funded by the AWE) in order to start with us in this role. It can take several months for clearance to come through. More info is available on UK.GOV.

1. 75 minute TEAMs interviews will be scheduled during working hours.
2. You will be required to prepare a 10 minute presentation.
