Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a a Band 7 Ward Manager to lead the dedicated nursing team which is part of the General Medicine Services. We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of the Ward Manager to provide leadership, management and support to the ward team and is responsible for the provision of patient care, ensuring that it is evidence based and of a high standard and to maintain 24-hour responsibility for the clinical area. Main duties of the job The post holder will ensure that patients receive the necessary care and treatment to promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults. This will be achieved through the application of specialist knowledge, skills and practice. This role requires close working relationships with a wide range of the multi-disciplinary/speciality teams, the Consultants, Heads of Nursing, Matrons, Ward Managers and the Clinical Site Management team. In order to succeed in this role you will need to possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to have the ability to deal with challenging situations in a fast paced environment in a professional and calm manner.
