We are on the look out for a kind-hearted and hard working Support Worker to join our adult services programme in Dorchester. The role You would be required to support five males, aged between 38 and 62 years old, living in their own flats in a supported living model. The people we support enjoy a range of activites from going for a walk around the local car boot sales, enjoying a coffee and cake in one of many eateries in the area, to going to the gym for a swim Three of the people we support are communicate with PECS and body language and two of the people we support can speak, are very independent and require partial support. You would be supporting with other daily living skills, such as Cooking, cleaning and medication routines. A day in the life of a Support Worker would include: Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication Hours of work: You would be required to work various shifts between 7am - 10pm. You would work alternate weekends and do sleep ins (sleep ins receive an additional payment) on a rolling rota basis. Why join us?
