We ensure all learning content is tailored to individual needs, interests and aspirations, and all programmes are designed to complement both vocational and academic learner pathways. Through the programme young people are supported to gain the skills required to progress into apprenticeship training, employment or further education.
Job Description
Teaching and learning:
* Teach Functional Skills in Maths and English from Entry Level to Level 2, ensuring lessons are well-planned and enable learners to achieve and progress.
* Create an inspirational learning environment that respects individual differences and celebrates diversity, maintaining high expectations for learner achievement and success.
* Develop and update schemes of work that meet curriculum, inspection, and accreditation requirements, reflecting current DfE guidance and regulatory standards.
* Implement a range of teaching and learning strategies in line with the College's policy, adapting to learners' individual needs and using relevant subject knowledge.
* Maintain effective systems for monitoring, assessing, and recording learner progress, including the use of IEPs and College tracking systems.
* Ensure good order and discipline, setting high expectations for behaviour and safeguarding learners' wellbeing.
* Engage with parents regarding learner progress and work as part of a team to provide effective pastoral support.
* Oversee the development of your subject area(s) and contribute to the broader educational goals of the College.

Qualifications
A recognised teaching qualification, minimum level 5
Experience
* Significant experience of Teaching and Planning
* Experience of working with a cohort of young people including those with complex, high behaviour and additional learning needs.
* Extensive behaviour management experience with students who have complex needs and extreme behaviour.
* Relevant classroom teaching experience.
* Experience with safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of learners.

Salary: 25,585-36,244
Contract: Full-time Permanent 37 hours per week
